The Hall Road Upgrade by Major Road Projects Victoria is a years-long undertaking; an important project involving the rehabilitation of road and pavement surfaces, improvement of traffic flow and road capacity, and enhancement of pedestrian safety and overall liveability along one of the south-east suburbs’ most congested thoroughfares.

Hall Road averages 17,000 vehicles per day, with this figure projected to increase to 21,000 by 2036 as the surrounding areas continue to develop rapidly. This significant upgrade will deliver additional traffic lanes, safer and more efficient traffic management at four critical intersections, new walking and cycling paths for road users, and additional barriers and street lights to improve visibility and safety for pedestrians as they travel along Hall Road.

Product compliance is non-negotiable, particularly in major infrastructure where public safety and wellbeing is of the highest importance. SVC Civil was contracted to supply various stormwater products to support the Hall Road Upgrade, including precast concrete stormwater pits, access covers, stormwater grates and kerb lintels. Aligning with Victoria’s Big Build‘s push to integrate recycled waste materials into major infrastructure works, SVC utilised its SVC Eco concrete mixes to produce the concrete components supplied to the project.

SVC Eco concrete achieves lower carbon emissions than standard concrete due to its use of sustainable materials such as supplementary cementitious materials and recycled plastics. Energy for production is also conserved, as the concrete is made using renewable rainwater harvested on-site and electricity generated from on-site solar panels.
