Stormwater Detention Systems

Managing stormwater effectively in urban and industrial environments helps to mitigate flooding risks while supporting sustainable water management. Stormwater detention systems play a vital role in stormwater management by temporarily holding excess rainwater and releasing it at a slower, controlled rate. By enabling a consistent runoff rate, stormwater detention systems help to manage stormwater surge during heavy rain events, reducing the pressure on natural waterways and municipal drainage networks.

At SVC Products, we specialise in delivering innovative stormwater detention solutions tailored to meet the demands of modern urban planning. Whether it’s a new greenfield development or an infill construction project to increase urban density, SVC can assist with reliable options for stormwater detention.

Our stormwater detention range includes options such as the patented MC2 MultiCell system, an innovative and customisable Dual Chamber Pit system, and standardised stormwater pit options that can be used to create project-specific baffle pits or orifice pits.

Our Stormwater Detention Products

PROD_Multi-Cell

MC2 Multi-Cell Unit

SVC’s patented MC2 multi-cell is a low maintenance, ‘set and forget’ solution that controls the flow and discharge of stormwater from a site, preventing flooding of existing drainage systems during heavy storms.
PROD_Dual-Chamber-Pit

Dual Chamber Pit

SVC’s dual-chamber pit provides a variable, one-size-fits-most solution for builders, plumbers and engineers to control stormwater outflow from increased density developments.
PROD_Trash-Grate

Trash Grates

Trash grates are available in various sizes for debris and silt filtration and are commonly used in storm water detention, retention and trade waste pits.

Stormwater Detention: Store, Control & Discharge Effectively

On-site stormwater detention systems capture and temporarily store stormwater during periods of heavy rainfall, reducing the strain on drainage systems. The water is collected in tanks or chambers, where flow-control mechanisms regulate its gradual release into the environment or stormwater network. This controlled discharge prevents flooding, protects infrastructure, and minimises erosion.

OSD systems are required when the development of land creates an increase in impervious areas, or hard surfaces, on the property. This leads to increased stormwater runoff, which can adversely affect municipal drainage infrastructure.

Stormwater detention systems must comply with the AS 3500: National Plumbing and Drainage Code. In addition to the national standard, each council has their own guidelines for on-site stormwater detention.

Why Choose SVC For Stormwater Detention Systems

SVC Products is an ISO-certified manufacturer, and our team works hard to ensure that all products are manufactured under controlled factory conditions. Products are routinely tested to ensure they satisfy all benchmarks for quality, durability and performance.

With SVC’s experience and in-depth understanding of Australia’s stormwater industry requirements, customers have peace of mind and assurance that our products are fit-for-purpose and comply with local regulations.

Download Our Stormwater Detention System Brochure

This free downloadable resource provides a comprehensive breakdown of the concept of on-site stormwater detention, helping customers understand what OSD is, and when their development project may require installation of a stormwater detention system.

The brochure contains detailed information about SVC’s OSD product range, providing a helpful guide as to which of our stormwater detention solutions will be most suitable for the designated application.

Custom Stormwater Detention Solutions

SVC’s standard product offerings for stormwater detention systems are versatile and designed to suit most OSD applications.

If a bespoke baffle pit or orifice pit product is required, SVC’s team of precast concrete specialists can assist customers with a tailored stormwater detention solution. This ensures that the product is purpose-built for its unique application, making it easier and quicker to install on-site with fewer modifications required.
