Trench Channel Sets

Pre-Formed Grated Steel Channels for Modular Linear Drainage Applications

Description

SVC Trench Grate and Channel Sets provide a complete, modular solution for effective linear surface drainage. They are designed to solve the problem of efficiently removing water along a continuous line, such as across driveways, at carpark boundaries or in front of commercial building entrances.

The system consists of 1m steel grate sections that are bolted down into steel channels beneath, where each channel forms one side of a trench wall. The bases of the channel walls can be easily bolted down into concrete bedding and backfilled on each side with more concrete, allowing quick and simple formation of a trench drain.

SVC Trench Channel Sets are load-rated as per AS 3996:2019 – Class B to suit pedestrian and slow-moving domestic traffic. Three clear opening sizes are available.

This versatile solution prevents large-scale water ponding, protecting pavements and pedestrian areas by channelling surface water into the drainage system.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use trench grates or channel sets to create a long run of trench drain?

SVC's trench grates and trench channel sets have a simple, modular design that allows long linear drainage channels to be created. Simply install the trench grating frames or channels end-to-end to create the desired length, then backfill or pour concrete around the frames to set them into place. Finally, the 1m grate segments are bolted down into the steel frames to complete the system.

What is a trench drain used for?

Trench drains are used to intercept and collect surface water over a long, continuous line, as opposed to at a singular point. The water is captured and diverted into the underground drainage system, avoiding water pooling at the ground level.

Common drainage trench applications include low points in front of garage doors, across large paved areas, at the base of retaining walls, around carparks or at the entry to commercial buildings.
