SVC’s patented MC2 Multi-Cell system is a simple but effective on-site stormwater detention (OSD) solution for commercial, industrial, and subdivision projects.
Designed in 1991 as part of a collaborative initiative between SVC and Dr Donald I. Phillips, Senior Lecturer of Swinburne University, the Multi-Cell unit’s core function is to slow and control the discharge rate of stormwater from a site. This is particularly critical for new building projects and increased density developments, where the existing drainage infrastructure is inadequate to handle the increased stormwater runoff caused by the addition of more hard surfaces on-site.
How It Works:
The MC2 Multi-Cell is a self-contained system comprising a series of precast concrete cells separated by alternating small orifices. As stormwater passes through the unit, it must travel through each cell before finally exiting the unit, which effectively slows the rate of stormwater discharge.
The MC2 Multi-Cell is available in different model numbers to satisfy a broad range of volumetric and hydraulic requirements. It offers a robust, reliable and low maintenance solution for on-site stormwater detention, ensuring long-term performance and compliance.
